I have drawn up a new list of rules for Church Farm. I would appreciate that everyone reads them, as they have to agree to them when they play.
1. There is no designated "safe zone" at Church Farm, only a dead zone. Therefore, eye protection in the form of goggles or a mask must be worn at all times. Shooting glasses are not permitted. Do not remove your goggles if you are "dead", even if the game is over. The only exception is when lunch is being eaten, during which all guns must be set to safe and left on the ground.
2. While in the dead zone, weapons must be set to safe, and test firing must only be in the designated safe direction. If possible, weapons should be equipped with a muzzle cover.
3. There is a power limit of 400 fps with a 0.2g BB for AEGs, and 500 fps with a 0.2g BB for spring sniper rifles.
4. All players must act responsibly at all times. Firing at one another is only permitted after the game has been started by the marshals.
5. Whistles will be used from this point in all games for safety reasons. Whistle signals are as follows:
One long blast = game started
Another long blast = game finished
Multiple, short blasts = emergency; cease fire immediately and set weapons to safe. This may be due to an injured player or a stray person without protection "blind man".
6. i) Although technically there is no minimum engagement distance for AEGs and gas pistols, it is considered unsporting to shoot somebody at very short distances (<5m). All players are encouraged to force an opponent in such a situation to surrender, e.g. shouting "surrender!", or tapping them on the shoulder. If, however, he does not surrender, (and he is not obliged to) then you may by all means shoot him.
ii) Hard rubber bayonets and combat knifes may be used. Plastic knifes are also allowed, as long as they are not sharp enough to hurt someone.
iii) There is a minimum engagement distance for high powered bolt action sniper rifles of 20m (tbc).
7. Church Farm Airsoft requests that you do not "overkill" any other player, as it is unsporting, and is frowned upon. Moreover, we will do nothing to protect an offending player from any vendettas (unless, of course, it is in an unsafe manner, such as in the dead zone).
This list has been approved by both myself (obviously, as I wrote it), and James. Therefore it is now in force. However, if you have any objections to any of the content in the list, then please do not hesitate to contact me by some method.
