sorry guys i left my usb stick at home and i need to read through this stuff at home over easter so im just going to stick it up on here :
• Leadership styles:
• Democratic: Two way communication decisions made jointly
• Paternalistic: You talk about it but ultimately the boss makes the decision
• Authoritarian: One way communication, your boss just tells you what to do and you get on and do it, this is a bit like a dictatorship
• On the job training:
• On job training: this is training done in work, which saves the company money and time getting you externally trained
• Off job training: this is training when a company sends you off, there are disadvantages as the company are paying you just to go and be trained, and they have to pay for the training
• Internal and external recruitment:
• Internal recruitment: this is good for morale as you can reward hard working staff with a promotion, but is bad because your not bringing in any fresh ideas
• External recruitment: this can be good because your bringing in fresh ideas to your company, but you may annoy other members of staff by not giving them a promotion they may deserve, which could result in staff quitting
• Batch Production:
• Job: this is when one off job is done like when something is ordered to specs
• Batch: this is when you make a whole batch/lot in one go, so more than one is made each time
• Flow: this is usually continuous production like in a factory
• Secondary research: this is usually used for a company that may be joining a market rather than making one, it saves money but may not always be as helpful as getting primary research.
• Business plan: this is a detailed plan on what they want to do with the business and when they are going to do it
• Bank loan: This can be good to get funds quickly, but bad in the fact that your borrowing money and have to pay it back with interest and sometimes the bank need it paid back before you have it all, which then gets you a bad credit history
• Cash Flow: the amount of cash in a business being received and spent during a period of time
• Training Program: this is a program the staff would follow to get trained, and learn the ropes of the business
• Job Description: this is a good description of what your job details and what your duties are
• Person Specification: is an extension of a job description and a profile of what the person doing the job will need to know, etc
• Capacity utilization: current output x100
Maximum output
• Diversity: not putting all your eggs in one basket
• Work force planning: having the right number of properly trained, staff at any given time
