Which guns was this Joe guy buying? Piers mentioned him to me, and said that he might be coming next year, because he's paralyzed or something. I didn't realise he was buying guns.

Are you talking about the WellFire R-6? Because unless I am utterly mistaken, Wellfire=Well=low cost, medium quality TM clones. That's not a bad thing. It basically means that you get almost the same performance, they often come bundled with lasers and batteries and all that crap, and are simply not made of such high quality plastic.
"The new WellFire R-6 is a very high quality 1/1 scale auto/semi electric airsoft gun, that features a velocity of 270 fps, Metal Gearbox, solid ABS sliding stock, 350 RD Magazine, Adjustable Hop Up, length of 680mm & Weight of 5lbs. The EG1000 Motor Feeds 15-20 rounds of 0.20g ball per second and includes 8.4v battery and charger. Also features metal parts including the gearbox and barrel, also ABS casing. 1000 0.20g 6mm BB's Free!"
I guess that means that it is an adequate first gun. Personally, I won't go near CYMA and the like, although I say that they are good. I'm sure that when he has used this a bit, eventually he will get a more expensive gun.
Also, you say he is getting a Colt. To be honest, you are being a little vague. There are quite a lot of Colts. Is it a spring pistol, or a GBB Colt 1911?

I tried a Well R-6 at Actionhobbys, and it was without doubt one of the worst guns I have ever handled. If it cost £30 from Finmere then it might be worth it, but no more. The build quality is horrible - the plastic is really thin and the sights were all bent and crap. Furthermore when I picked it up by the carry handle the reciever creaked like it was going to shatter and it started to bend.
NOT WORTH IT!!!

Probably right. Plus it doesn't come with any extra crap - all you get is the gun, a magazine, a battery and charger, and a bag or market BB's.

That sounds sick. Fortunately, Piers tells me he's not getting one, and is getting some other gun I can't remember what and a Glock.
